A few days ago, 2007 China Top 10 Achievements of Geological Prospecting were selected by the eighth Secretary-General Meeting of the 38th Session of the Council of the Geological Society of China. The Breakthrough of Daye Iron Mine Deep Exploration in Huangshi Hubei which Zhongnan Geological Prospecting Institute organized the implementation ranks.

　　It is learned that Zhongnan Geological Prospecting Institute found the second stage of the iron ore body in deep exploration of Daye Iron Mine, which is one of the trial programs in the National geological survey of the mines, through combination of technologies such as aeromagnetic, ground magnetic and CSAMT sounding, well magnetic prospecting exploration. Drilled totally 31171.01 m deep, there were 10 out of 40 drills seen thick and big iron ore body. More than 20 million tons of (333 +334) Iron resources with iron-wide average grade of 43.41%, nearly 80000 tons of copper, 5000 tons of cobalt, 5 tons of gold, and silver, sulfur, and other useful elements added to the resource respectively. It is a major breakthrough and will play an exemplary role in the nation's work on deep exploration of mines exhausting resources.
